
Oppo A78 5G with 5000mAh battery launched in India
Oppo has expanded its A-series portfolio with the launch of the Oppo A78 5G in India. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek Helio 700 SoC. The device is equipped with a dual rear camera. Additionally, there is a 5,000mAh battery on board that supports 33W SuperVOOC fast charging.

The new Oppo A78 5G is available in a single 8GB RAM with 128GB storage option and is priced at Rs 18,999 in India. The device comes in two color variants Glowing Black and Glowing Blue. It will be available for purchase starting January 18 through Oppo’s online store, Amazon, and other major retail outlets.

Customers can get up to 10% cashback and six months NCEMI from ICICI, SBI, BOB, IDFC, ONECARD and AU FINANCE banks. Sales incentives can be redeemed through Amazon. No-cost EMI options start at Rs 3,167. According to Oppo, trade-in discounts are also available but are limited to Rs 18,049.

Oppo A78 5G specifications
The Oppo A78 5G has a 6.56-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1,1612 pixels. The screen also offers a pixel density of 269 ppi, a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a screen-to-body ratio of 89.8. The phone features a 7nm MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and runs ColorOS 13 on top of Android 13. The available storage can be stretched up to 12GB using unused storage. The device has a dedicated microSD card slot and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage that can be upgraded to 1TB.
A 50-megapixel primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture make up the Oppo A78 5G’s dual rear camera system on the back. It also has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The smartphone’s Super Night Standby algorithm evaluates users’ sleeping habits to reduce power consumption to just 2% at night. In addition, the user can turn on the Superpower Saving mode when the battery is low to save power in case of an emergency.

The phone has features like Flex Drop that enables efficient multitasking, Three Finger Translation with Google Lens and Photo Information Protection that allows users to remove metadata from photos and videos to stop sensitive information from leaking.
Along with the face unlock feature, it has an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometrics. There are several sensors on board, including an accelerometer, a pedometer, an ambient light sensor, a gravity sensor, a geomagnetic sensor, and a proximity sensor. Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port, GPS, A-GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and OTG are among the connectivity options of the Oppo A78 5G.
Powering the Oppo A78 5G is a 5,000mAh battery that fully charges in around 60 minutes and supports 33W SuperVOOC fast charging. According to the company, the battery lasts up to 23 hours. All Indian service providers including Jio, Vodafone and Airtel are compatible with the new phone.
