The user interface of Instagram will change in February, the shop tab will disappear
There are a few adjustments being made to the Instagram navigation bar. The social media platform that has now become a video sharing app will be able to start a new Instagram post with the Shop tab removed from the home page. The bookmark can be placed in the middle of the navigation bar at the bottom of the page. The Reels button at the bottom of the navigation bar will be replaced by the Create New Post button as part of the edits.
Instagram is removing the Shop Tab that was introduced in 2020 on the mobile app’s home screen to add shopping options. According to Meta, the photo-sharing app will undergo several changes in February to make it easier for users to share and connect with their friends and interests.

The authoring widget will now be in the middle of the navigation bar at the bottom of the app and the reels will be on the right.
As part of this change, the Instagram Shop tab will be removed. As long as the social media platform continues to invest in shopping experiences that offer users and companies the best value across feeds, stories, reels, ads and more, you’ll be able to set up and run your business on Instagram.

Only companies in multiple markets can use this service. Currently, only a small number of businesses and customers in the US have access to the checkout.
In 2020, Instagram added two new tabs to its platform: Reels and Shop. Users can connect with businesses and creators and find things they love on the Shop tab, while the Reels tab gives them access to quick and fun videos from creators around the world. The move came during the pandemic, when more and more people started shopping online and young people started asking their favorite manufacturers for advice on what to buy.

The Shop tab on Instagram helped users find inspiration from creators they adore, shop on Instagram and support small businesses. You can find personalized designs, editors’ favorites selected by the @shop channel, shoppable videos, new product collections, and more.
